Klinkert Rechtsanwälte continues to grow: Annett Rombach becomes partner for sports and arbitration

We are pleased to announce the addition of Annett Rombach to our partnership. Annett Rombach, 40, is a recognized expert in the field of international arbitration with a focus on sports and commercial law. She began her legal career at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in 2009 before joining Klinkert Rechtsanwälte in 2015.

In the area of national and international sports arbitration, Annett Rombach has acquired an excellent reputation not only as a party representative for our clients in football cases, among others, but above all as an arbitrator in more than 150 proceedings before the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT) and in proceedings before the ICC. She also contributes her experience to the German Arbitration Institute (DIS) as a member of the Sports Arbitration Committee and the Task Force. Furthermore, she is a lecturer at the German Sport University Cologne at the Institute for Sports Economics and Sports Management.

Annett Rombach is also regularly appointed as arbitrator in commercial and IP arbitration proceedings. In addition to German arbitration law, is particularly familiar with Swiss arbitration law. At the University of Zurich, she is a lecturer for International Commercial Arbitration. "Annett Rombach is an outstanding lawyer with a sharp mind and exceptional abilities of observation. In addition to the expansion of the renowned sports law department, the strengthening of the arbitration area is intended to create valuable interfaces to the areas of IP and media law, in which the law firm Klinkert Rechtsanwälte has also been well known in the market for years.  

Additionally, on 1 October 2020, Jonas Kronen will start as associate for sports and arbitration. Jonas Kronen graduated from the International and European Legal Studies (IELSP) program at the University of Antwerp and studied at the University of Mannheim (including a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), Corporate Lawyer). During his legal clerkship at the District Court of Darmstadt, Kronen worked in renowned international law firms and at the German Consulate General in Hong Kong.
