Christine Gärtner, LL.M. (Dallas) is a partner of the firm and specializes in conflict resolution. She advises companies, entrepreneurial families, corporate bodies and associations on complex issues, governance topics and in crisis situations as well as before German courts and arbitration tribunals. Her expertise and experience is characterized by mostly serving clients for many years and covers corporate disputes, including the dismissal and termination of board members as well as liability issues, in particular for fines. She has particular experience in disputes concerning long-standing supplier relationships and in defending claims for damages as well as in post-M&A proceedings. In addition, her expertise includes banking law issues and bank product liability issues as well as deposit protection law and legal issues surrounding the winding up and liquidation of banks. Most recently, she has increasingly dealt with greenwashing and ESG issues as well as issuer liability.
Christine Gärtner is a member of the German Institution of Arbitration and the Banking Law Association. In an honorary capacity, she is active as a member of the Regional Committee of FidAR e.V. and is committed to the equal participation of women in leadership. Christine Gärtner is recognized in the market as an excellent litigator and has been regularly recommended by JUVE and Chambers as well as Legal 500 for several years. In the most recent edition of the JUVE handbook, she was described by clients as having "first-class quality under high time pressure, good coordination in various jurisdictions", and by a competitor as a colleague with "comprehensive know-how in banking law".
